The Milk Bank Announced as New Specialty License Plate for Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – Save lives while you drive the next time you renew or purchase license plates for your vehicle!

The Milk Bank is thrilled to be one of five new specialty group recognition license plates approved by the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

Freedom Kolb, CEO of The Milk Bank, shares, “This is such an incredible investment in infant health. Not only will each license plate provide up to 15 feedings for the tiniest Hoosiers, but the visibility will encourage more milk donation across the state. It is such a meaningful, high impact investment to support medically vulnerable babies and their families.”

The Milk Bank exists to unite people in urgently reducing infant mortality. Widely recognized as the leading indicator of public health, Indiana has long struggled with an infant mortality rate that far outpaces the national average. Since their inception in 2005, The Milk Bank has provided more than 12.5 million feedings of safe human milk to those who are often born too small, too sick, or too soon.

The Milk Bank was able to demonstrate statewide impact for Hoosiers and secure more than 500 petition signatures as part of the extensive application process to be advanced as a specialty license plate. The organization will receive a $25 donation for each registration and the new license plate option is expected to be available in early 2025.

It’s easy to participate. When you’re ready to renew or purchase license plates, head to the Indiana BMV’s specialty license plates and start saving lives while you drive.
